Privacy Policy — DataJot

1. Data handled by the app

DataJot does not require an account managed by its publisher. The app handles the series, measurements, categories, units, and settings you create. It does not send them to a server operated by DataJot.

When you enable the HomeKit integration, DataJot can read the authorized home structure and the current values of compatible characteristics you select. To maintain series links, the app stores the identifiers and names of the home, room, accessory, service, and characteristic, together with the latest capture status. It does not import history from the Home app.

2. Purposes

This data is used only to provide the requested features: organizing and displaying measurements, synchronizing data when you enable iCloud, discovering authorized HomeKit accessories, and recording their current values. DataJot does not use this data for advertising or advertising tracking.

3. Storage and synchronization

App data is stored on your devices. When iCloud synchronization is enabled and available, series, measurements, and HomeKit binding metadata may be synchronized by Apple in your private CloudKit database. iCloud operation and availability depend on Apple services and settings.

4. HomeKit permission and control

HomeKit access requires your authorization through Apple's system prompt. You can revoke it in system settings. Revocation prevents future discovery and captures, but does not automatically delete measurements or metadata already stored in DataJot.

Deleting a linked series through DataJot's standard flow removes its measurements and HomeKit binding. Export features let you retrieve compatible data before deletion.

5. Website analytics

The DataJot website uses Umami Cloud to measure site usage and navigation events without linking them to data stored in the app. This information is processed by Umami's infrastructure under its own privacy policy. The app does not contain this website tracking.

6. Sharing and third-party services

DataJot does not sell your data. Apple processes data required for HomeKit and iCloud according to your settings and its own terms. Umami processes the website analytics data described above. If you contact support, the information you provide is used to respond to your request.

7. Security and changes

Local and iCloud data benefit from security mechanisms provided by Apple, but no mechanism can guarantee absolute security. This policy may change with the app, website, or applicable requirements; the latest version remains published here.
